Didier Charpentier has acquired Black Pepper Yachts’ assets through CDML, with most of the Nantes yard’s workforce retained as attention turns to completing existing builds.

BoatIndustry reports that the Nantes Commercial Court approved the asset sale in early October 2026, a month after the yachtbuilder entered receivership.

Eleven of twelve employees have been retained. The original business is undergoing court-ordered liquidation, while its assets and activities transfer to the new entity. The acquisition price has not been disclosed.

An owner becomes the yard’s buyer

Charpentier, the founder and former chief executive of Itesoft, is already a customer. He commissioned one of the two C.69 sailing catamarans under construction at the yard. BoatIndustry reports that cost overruns on these projects contributed to its cash-flow difficulties.

Retaining the team preserves specialist carbon-building knowledge. Completing the catamarans and funding future work are now priorities. The takeover does not establish financial recovery.
