The first Custom Line Saetta 128 has entered the water in Ancona, bringing the brand's latest planing yacht from design proposal to physical presence. Its combination of three decks, contemporary interiors and waterside leisure spaces puts the relationship between movement and comfort at the centre of the project.

A Launch in Ancona

Custom Line launched the first Saetta 128 on 30 September 2026 at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard. The builder subsequently announced the milestone on 8 October; Yachting covered the launch on 16 October. Three units of the model have been sold, according to the announcement.

The yacht measures approximately 39.8 metres and remains below 300 GT. SY Design is responsible for the exterior, while ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel developed the interior architecture. The partnership gives the model a distinct design identity within Custom Line's planing range.

Choosing Where to Spend the Day

The arrangement includes an owner's suite on the main deck, a beach club aft and an upper-deck sky lounge. Rather than concentrating the outdoor experience in a single gathering place, the design presents several settings across the yacht.

That distribution is worth considering from a guest's perspective. A family group rarely wants to do the same thing throughout an entire day. One person might prefer shade and a book while others gather near the water. The usefulness of multiple decks rests partly on whether people can find those different settings without feeling separated from the rest of the group.

The interior palette includes walnut, maple and pale marble alongside darker lacquered finishes. These material choices invite a quieter reading of the yacht than its sporty exterior might first suggest. Their effect in use will depend on the light, furniture and proportions experienced aboard, beyond what can be established from launch images.

Performance as a Stated Target

The reported propulsion package pairs two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines. The published figures indicate an expected maximum speed of 22 knots and cruising speed of 19 knots. These are announced performance figures; a launch report should not be read as a record of completed sea trials.

For a prospective owner, the relevant next questions concern the yacht's behaviour across different operating conditions and the way its spaces work during a real cruise. Entering the water is an important step toward answering them. It is also the moment when a carefully composed design begins to encounter the ordinary routines that will eventually make it someone's yacht.
