The 40-metre Perini Navi sailing yacht Olympia has been relaunched at Lusben’s Viareggio yard following a wide-ranging technical and exterior refit.

Olympia has returned to the water at Lusben’s Viareggio facility after a refit addressing propulsion, sailing equipment, onboard systems and exterior finishes. Built by Perini Navi in 2013, the 40-metre sailing yacht was previously known as State of Grace.

Renewal Below the Surface

The engine-room programme included removal and overhaul of the main Caterpillar engine, replacement of its block, new generators and changes to the exhaust system. The movable keel mechanism was also overhauled.

Work extended to sails, deck equipment, navigation electronics and the external helm console. The programme also included comprehensive repainting.

Relaunch Before Final Testing

Lusben coordinated the programme with owner’s representative Susanna Corsagni of Seamotion and specialist suppliers.

Following the 5 October relaunch, the remaining steps include re-stepping the carbon mast and completing fine-tuning and testing. The return to the water is therefore a major milestone within the programme, rather than confirmation that all commissioning work has finished.
