Princess is preparing the C48 Open for a world premiere at Fort Lauderdale, introducing outboard propulsion and a new C-Class direction to its range.

The C48 Open is scheduled to make its world premiere at the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. According to Princess's presentation, it is the builder's first outboard-powered model and the opening entry in the C-Class range.

The layout centres on outdoor living, with an enclosed C48 Deck Salon version expected to follow around a year later. The builder also intends to expand the class with further models.

A different brief for a familiar name

The project introduces a new running surface and propulsion arrangement, with Michael Peters brought in as a hull consultant. Dealer feedback formed part of development, reflecting the emphasis on American boating habits.

The information comes from a sponsored Yachting feature. It describes the manufacturer's launch plans and design rationale, rather than an independent sea trial of performance or serviceability.
