Studio Segno's Maai concept brings Japanese restraint and Italian sociability into a yacht layout, with a waterside dining space taking the place of a conventional aft beach club.
The approximately 47-metre Maai concept was developed by Studio Segno founders Giovanni Paszkowski and Çağla Enginer. Paszkowski shaped the exterior, while Enginer developed an interior combining clean lines with warm timber.
Its layout separates quieter forward areas from more social spaces aft. The owner's forward accommodation opens onto a terrace, with wellness facilities positioned on an upper level.
A different use for the lower deck
The aft lower-deck arrangement gives dining and lounging a direct relationship with the sea. Folding balconies and a lowering swim platform extend the connection beyond the interior.
Maai remains a concept. Its spaces and proposed machinery describe a design intention, rather than a completed yacht or an established construction programme.
